CHAD MATHEWS - FOUNDER AND INSTRUCTOR

Originally from Orange Park, Florida, Chad first came to Tallahassee as a student at Florida State University.  Soon after getting started in school, he discovered the Flying High Circus.  After a semester he was hooked and has been involved ever since. During his time in the circus program he performed in over 500 shows and trained on several different types of circus and acrobatic acts.

After receiving his degree in Philosophy, he had the opportunity to work professionally with the FSU circus as a coach and administrator.   He was in this position for 10 years, and in that time coached over 20 different circus and acrobatic acts and worked with hundreds of students.  While working for the circus he was able to get his Master's degree in Sport Administration.  

In 2008, he became director of the circus.  Since then the circus has had unprecedented growth in popularity, and more importantly participation.  

In 2014 Chad launched Creative Acrobatics LLC in an effort to expand opportunities for youth to experience and participate in acrobatics and performance, those very things which had such a profound impact on his life.
